The TANSMAN International Festival of Musical Personalities
Presenting each time the greatest celebrities of the Polish and foreign musical world as well as young dynamic personalities of all continents we have been contributing to the development of Łódź, its region and the whole country, spreading Polish music worldwide and giving a boost to Polish culture so that it develops in contact with various cultures throughout the world.
Through the figure of the Festival's patron – the composer, pianist and conductor Alexander Tansman, a Pole of Jewish origin and a French citizen, whose life and work testifies to the universality and diversity of cultural heritage which he was drawing on extensively, blending European tradition with modern 20 th -century forms and languages of Europe's and world's music – we have been stimulating a cultural dialogue on the international level and encouraging the presentation, enforcement and promotion of Polish cultural heritage on the international background.
The TANSMAN F estival presents in concert remarkable Polish and foreign artists whose achievements earned them the name of musical personalities.
The event is frequently their first occasion to visit Poland and Łódź.
